EUROfusion has opened applications for the 2026 FUTTA IV Technology Transfer Demonstrator Call, inviting European companies and research organisations to explore new non-fusion applications for fusion technologies and know how. Managed by In Extenso Innovation Croissance, the call is part of the new phase of the Fusion Technology Transfer Activity, which continues through 2026 and 2027.

The initiative aims to support demonstrator projects that can test the technical feasibility of fusion-based solutions in real use cases and help move them closer to market. For the EUROfusion strand, up to four projects in total may be funded until the end of 2027, with up to EUR 50,000 per project. While EUROfusion Beneficiaries cannot apply to the call, they may still be involved in a project and receive up to 25% FTE, or three person months, of support for fusion scientists through FUTTA, upon request in the proposal.
The call is permanent, with a first cut-off date of 31 July 2026, followed by additional cut-off dates on 27 November 2026 and, optionally, 26 February 2027.
Priority will be given to projects with a clear non-fusion application, a defined market opportunity and a well identified technical risk to be addressed through the demonstrator. Proposals are expected to show the EUROfusion origin of the technology, the advantage for the target market, and the collaboration between the technology donor and the receiving organisation.
Fusion for Energy has also launched its 2026 Technology Transfer Demonstrator Call, supporting projects that aim to turn fusion technologies and know-how into concrete market applications.
